SERVICE AREA: France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Spain, and Taiwan.
PROGRAM TYPE: 2 - 6 week hosting programs during the summer and winter holidays. Long term (3+months) college programs also available year-round in the Portland Oregon area.
FINANCES: Students bring own spending money, are covered by insurance and pay own transportation. Host families provide room and board. Stipends provided for long-term programs.
VISITOR REQUIREMENTS: Ages: 12 to 24.
Students must have at least 2 years of English. Proficiency varies.
Visa: B-2 tourist or student Visa.
Notification as soon as the placement occurs.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: ANDEO (formerly International Summerstays) seeks to promote international friendships and understanding through hosting programs. We offer short term stays so that the families have the opportunity to host without a major time commitment. Longer term (3+months) college programs are also available in the Portland area. Students and families are “matched”, taking into consideration interests, activities and requests. During some programs, students attend daytime classes or do volunteer work. Host family orientations are held prior to the students’ arrival, and bilingual chaperones and local staff are available at all times as a support network.
