FINANCES: Host families are volunteers but are not expected to provide spending money. A $50 per month tax deduction can be claimed for each month you host.

VISITOR REQUIREMENTS: Ages: 15-18. 116 page application, interview in English, English test requirement, recommendation from English teacher, good health and GPA of “B” or higher. Host families are interviewed, must provide 3 personal references, a host family application, and pass a criminal background check.. Host families are notified in a few days. Students notified after review of application information.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: AYUSA International is dedicated to promoting peace and personal growth through international exchange. Full time managers in regional offices supervise & train regional and community representatives, who work to provide support services to students and host families, such as cross cultural orientation, counseling, and insurance assistance. Regular reports of student progress are collected by AYUSA headquarters and forwarded to parents. Participant selection criteria include academic success, motivation, English skills, maturity, and adaptability. Students carry medical and accident insurance. Host families participate in the selection of the student they will host.
